Guglietti Family donates $250,000 to Oakville Hospital

Posted: July 25, 2012

OAKVILLE, ON, July 25, 2012 – The recent donation of a quarter of a million dollars is the latest in a long line of charitable efforts by the Giovanni and Concetta Guglietti Family Foundation, named in memory of their parents by brothers Silvio, Riccardo, Marco and John Guglietti.

This generous sum will be used to purchase much-needed equipment for the new Oakville Hospital building, with the Prenatal Clinic to be named in honour of the Foundation.

The clinic will provide care for women with medical, obstetric or fetal complications requiring observation and investigation in an outpatient setting. Services will include non-stress tests, gestational diabetes education classes, pre-induction treatment, Rh immune injections, pre-operative care for C-sections. There will also be four suites dedicated to administering obstetrical ultrasounds. Currently, more than 5,800 women are seen annually by this clinic, a number which is anticipated to grow to over 7,500 by 2024.

With the help of these funds, Oakville’s talented nurses, physicians and practitioners can continue to meet growing demand and provide the highest quality healthcare services for the community.

It is a community the Guglietti brothers hold dear to their hearts. As prominent Oakville businessmen with significant interests in the home building and lumber supply business, they have a history of strong support for Oakville. It’s the community where the brothers grew up, where their companies have built many neighbourhoods, and where a number of family members still live. They are pleased to now give back to the community in such a positive way.

The Oakville Hospital Foundation’s $60 million campaign to equip the new Oakville Hospital will help purchase more than 30,000 pieces of equipment that will save lives and improve the lives of those living in Oakville. Strong corporate collaboration is vital to the Foundation’s mission to enable high quality patient care at Oakville Hospital.
