Foundation Board Chair Pledges $500,000 to Hospital Campaign

OAKVILLE (February 7, 2013) – A leader in more ways than one, Bruce Galloway, Chairman of the Oakville Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, along with his wife Kelly have pledged $500,000 to the campaign to equip the new Hospital.

“As Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, every day I meet people who share my pride and excitement about our new hospital and are committed in supporting quality health care in our community,” said Bruce Galloway. “It is up to all of us to come together now and give what we can to ensure our hospital has the equipment and technology it needs on opening day and in the years ahead.”

The Foundation Board Chairman and his wife originally made a gift of $250,000 at the start of the campaign but they have recently doubled that amount. In recognition of their gift the Women’s Diagnostic Imaging Centre will be named in their honour.

The Women's Diagnostic Imaging Centre in the new Hospital will bring breast ultrasound, bone densitometry and mammography services together in one convenient location. This Centre will be in addition to the main Ultrasound Centre, specifically enabling clustered appointments and keeping the comfort, convenience and privacy of the patient in mind.

“Bruce and Kelly are truly amazing people,” said Tina Triano, CEO of the Oakville Hospital Foundation. “We are grateful to them both for this magnificent gift and for Bruce’s tremendous dedication, loyalty and service to the Oakville Hospital Foundation over the past several years.”
