The Smilezone Foundation, a non-profit group which aims to put smiles on the faces of children dealing with illness and other physical difficulties through the redevelopment and transformation of hospital spaces, private centers and other facilities, is holding its second annual Celebrity Golf Tournament and fundraiser On Monday July the 14th at Rattlesnake Point Golf Club in Milton Ontario.

A list of attending celebrities continues to grow, ranging from former Toronto Maple Leaf forward Tie Domi to Canadian rock stars Tom Cochrane and Alex Lifeson. The event will be co-emceed by Nick Kypreos of Rogers Sportsnet and Glenn Healy of Hockey Night in Canada.

The event, which last year raised more than $200,000 will once again be attended by local celebrities, professional athletes, actors, and business and community leaders. The event is also open to the public with foursomes and sponsorship opportunities still available.  Foursomes will be teamed with a celebrity guest for 18-holes on the Thomas McBroom-designed Rattlesnake Point course and will also enjoy a hosted lunch and dinner as well as live and silent auctions.

“Our goal is to positively impact communities across the country by making it easier for children and loved ones who are dealing with serious illnesses and other difficulties,” said former National Hockey League player, Stanley Cup winner and Smilezone co-founder Adam Graves. “I know the difference that a simple smile can make and it’s very powerful.”

Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Oakville Hospital Foundation. The Foundation is partnering with the community to fund essential equipment for the new Oakville Hospital, scheduled to open in December 2015. The new Oakville Hospital will be more than triple the size of the current facility and will offer expanded programs and services and more family friendly space for patients and their families.

A multitude of sponsorship opportunities are also available for corporations or other individuals looking to support this worthy cause. Sponsorship ranges from low level participation such as the donation of prizing, silent auction items and serving as a hole sponsor ($500) to more integrated support including serving as a tournament partner at a Bronze ($5,000), Silver ($10,000), and Gold ($15,000) level.
