Oakville Hospital Foundation Going Door-to-Door This Summer Asking For Your Support

Posted: May 19, 2015
OAKVILLE (May 19, 2015) With the opening of the new Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital this December, the Oakville Hospital Foundation is turning to the community for help to equip it. Starting on May 19, the Foundation will be asking residents living in Oakville and north Burlington to become a monthly donor through a door to door fundraising campaign.
Canvassers will go door to door on behalf of the Hospital to ask for community support by joining the Oakville Hospital Foundation’s monthly giving program. This summer campaign will raise awareness and funds and provide an opportunity for the community to find out more about the new Hospital.
“The monthly giving program provides a simple and convenient way for individuals to support Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital,” said Tina Triano, CEO of the Oakville Hospital Foundation. “By arranging pre-authorized payments each month, donors can support the Hospital's ongoing equipment needs every day of the year and ensure our caregivers have the medical equipment they require to care for patients."
The monthly giving program is an important source of funding for the Hospital. Since the government funds virtually no medical equipment for hospitals, OTMH relies on the support of the entire community to help acquire these vital, life-saving items.
Canvassers will be in Oakville and north Burlington neighbourhoods Monday through Saturday, excluding major holidays, asking potential donors to consider making a contribution to the Hospital. This is done either through direct debit or credit card payment.  Cash will not be accepted.

Canvassers will accept donations on the spot using specially modified iPhones. This is a convenient and secure mobile giving method that helps us receive your urgently needed contribution as soon as possible. The new method can accept both credit cards and cheque donations and helps reduce administrative costs.
Each canvasser has a photo I.D. that will be clearly visible and there is also a toll free number for any potential donors who would like more information before making their decision. If you would like to find out more about the program, please call Paula Silveira, Direct Response Officer at (905) 845-2571, ext. 6689.
