Oakville Hospital Foundation Going Door-to-Door This Summer Asking For Your Support

Posted: June 26, 2013

Oakville, ON – June 26, 2013 – With the construction of the new Oakville Hospital well underway, The Oakville Hospital Foundation is turning to the community for help to equip it. Starting on July 2, the Foundation will be asking Oakville residents to become a monthly donor through a door to door fundraising campaign.

Canvassers will go door to door on behalf of the Hospital to ask for community support by joining the Oakville Hospital Foundation’s monthly giving program. This summer campaign will raise awareness and funds and provide an opportunity for the community to find out more about the new Hospital.

“The monthly giving program provides a simple and convenient way for individuals to support Oakville’s hospital,” said Tina Triano, CEO of the Oakville Hospital Foundation. “By arranging pre-authorized payments each month, donors can support our ongoing equipment needs every day of the year.”

The monthly giving program is an important source of funding for the Hospital which is why Amarna, a private family foundation, has pledged to match 100% of all new monthly contributions made as a result of the door to door campaign until March 31, 2014.

“We are extremely grateful to Amarna for this matching gift,” said Triano. “For anyone thinking about becoming a monthly donor, this match will double the impact of your contribution and enable us to increase our funding to the Hospital. Ultimately we all want to provide our caregivers with the equipment they need to save lives.”

Canvassers will be in Oakville neighbourhoods Monday through Saturday, excluding major holidays, asking potential donors to consider making a contribution to the Hospital. This is done either through direct debit or credit card payment.  Cash will not be accepted.

Each canvasser has a photo I.D. that will be clearly visible and there is also a toll free number for any potential donors who would like more information before making their decision. If you would like to find out more about the program, please call Paula Silveira, Direct Response Officer at (905) 845-2571, ext. 6689.
