Healthcare Supports over the Holidays

The holiday season is here, bringing cozy gatherings, twinkling lights—and unfortunately, cold and flu season. With so much happening, it’s more important than ever to take care of your health and ensure your loved ones are supported. To help you navigate your healthcare options this winter, we’ve gathered some resources to keep your family well during this busy time.

1. Walk-In Clinics and Urgent Care Centers

If you need quick care, walk-in clinics and urgent care centers are great options. You can find nearby services or virtual clinics here and here.

2. Regional Virtual Urgent Care

Sometimes, staying home is the best option. With Regional Virtual Urgent Care, you can connect with a nurse practitioner online for professional guidance from the comfort of your home.

3. Find a Family Doctor or Nurse Practitioner

Looking for a trusted healthcare provider? Visit this link or call 1-844-806-3093 to help you find the right fit for your family.

4. Health811 – Free 24/7 Nurse Advice

For questions about symptoms or care options, registered nurses are available anytime through Health811. Call 811 or visit health811.ontario.ca for free, confidential advice.

5. Your Local Pharmacist

Pharmacists can now help with more than prescriptions—they can assess and treat common concerns like strep throat, pink eye, and UTIs. Learn more here.

6. Free RSV Immunizations for High-Risk Infants

If your infant is under 12 months old or at high risk between 12-24 months, RSV immunizations can provide critical protection. Book an appointment by calling 905-203-7937, or visit haltonhealth.com for more details.

7. Mental Health Supports

The holidays can be challenging for mental health. If you or a loved one need help, visit halton.cmha.ca for virtual support for anxiety, addiction, and more. You can also call the 24/7 Suicide Crisis Helpline at 9-8-8.

When Emergency Care is Needed

In emergencies, always call 911 or visit your closest Emergency Department.
