OTMH's Better Care Story

Imagine if your phone could help doctors keep you safe after a hip or knee surgery. That’s exactly what’s happening at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH) with a new app called SeamlessMD!

This app acts like a friendly guide for patients before and after their surgeries. It’s packed with videos and easy-to-understand tips to help patients know exactly what to do.

Plus, doctors can check on their patients from a distance, making sure everyone gets the care they need right from their own homes.

500 patients have used SeamlessMD so far and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

It’s made things better for patients because they don’t have to stay in the hospital as long. They also don’t need to go back for extra help as often.

Dr. Thomas, Orthopedic Surgeon leading the initiative at Halton Healthcare, shared insights on the benefits his patients have seen:

Patients are experiencing a new level of care. They tell me they feel more connected and reassured, knowing that our team is actively monitoring their progress and able to intervene if they fall off track.

The collaboration between the developers of SeamlessMD and the Halton Healthcare team is integral to the success of this initiative.

Jody Strik, a leader in the hospital management team, believes this app is transforming patient care. It simplifies complex medical information, helping patients manage their health confidently and reducing anxiety related to surgery and recovery.

What’s next?

Halton Healthcare wants to use this app for more types of surgeries, so even more patients can feel safe and supported. They are always trying to find new ways to help their patients and make sure they get the best care.

This new app is just one of the ways our hospital is working to make sure everyone who comes to OTMH gets the best treatment and feels taken care of.
