COVID-19 Response

Supporting our front-line caregivers and the fight against COVID-19.

Thanks to an outpouring of generosity from the community, Oakville Hospital Foundation has achieved its goal and has raised $3 million for the OTMH Response Fund.

Since launching the fund on March 17, the Foundation has received donations from 4,398 donors totalling $2,550,000 in addition to a lead gift of $450,000 from three long-time OHF donors.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support of our donors which enabled us to fund additional patient beds, patient monitors, ventilators, and laboratory equipment at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital,” said Mary McPherson, Chief Executive Officer of the Oakville Hospital Foundation. “This equipment not only had an immediate impact on healthcare in our community but will also continue to support patient care for years to come. As well, we thank everyone for the enthusiastic and heartfelt support of our OTMH heroes. From the thousands of complimentary meals for frontline staff to the gifts of flowers and hand cream to the siren salutes, we appreciated everything you did to take care of our healthcare heroes. You raised their spirits during this difficult time!”

With Oakville Hospital Trafalgar Memorial Hospital entering a restart plan in a phased approach, the Foundation is currently raising funds to support the priority and emerging needs of the hospital. Healthcare needs during the pandemic are evolving and donations to Oakville Hospital Foundation continue to give OTMH healthcare providers the ability to respond. The need for world-class healthcare in our community is more important than ever.

There is no doubt the COVID-19 pandemic has shifted our reality seemingly overnight and many say it will be a slow journey back to “normal”. I believe the pandemic has also highlighted the important role healthcare philanthropy plays which our donors have always known
