A Transformational Investment in Care
- Jul 6, 2026

Oakville Hospital Foundation is profoundly grateful to share that the recently announced build-out of shelled space at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital will be advanced by three extraordinary leadership gifts of $5 million each.
These generous commitments have been made by Peter Gilgan, Donald and Nancy Scarrow, and an anonymous donor.
These gifts reflect both a meaningful investment in health care and a deep belief in our hospital and care teams. At a time when it matters most, this generosity demonstrates exceptional leadership and a shared commitment to the future of care in our communities. These new spaces are designed around patients, offering rooms that promote comfort, dignity, and recovery.
Thoughtfully integrated into OTMH when it opened in 2015, shelled space is unfinished space that was intentionally part of the hospital’s build to allow us to grow with our communities and patient needs. Philanthropy is essential to making this project possible.
Thanks to extraordinary donor leadership, we are building and expanding capacity in ways that will strengthen care for patients, families, and care teams for years to come.
Inspired by these leadership gifts, June and Ian Cockwell have stepped forward with an extraordinary challenge: a $1 million matching gift for every $5 million gift, accelerating the impact of each new major commitment toward this project.
This match creates a compelling opportunity for philanthropy to go further, unlocking additional funding and helping ensure that this expansion is fully realized for the patients and families who depend on it.
Together, these transformational gifts mark a significant milestone toward Oakville Hospital Foundation’s $150 million campaign to meet the rapidly changing needs of our communities.
We extend our deepest thanks to these donors and to all who are inspired to stand with them in their vision, leadership, and generosity. Their collective support will help ensure that high-quality, compassionate care remains accessible to those who need it most.
