As the new President and CEO of Halton Healthcare, I’m delighted to introduce myself and thank you personally for your incredible support. Every patient and family we care for, each milestone we mark, every piece of equipment we use and the investments we make into patient care are only possible with your support. 

As you may know, Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH) – your community hospital – is experiencing its fair share of challenges this year. Our community is growing at a rapid rate. In fact, Halton Region has one of the fastest growing populations in the province. Our residents are aging and have more complex health issues than ever. These challenges inspire us to develop more innovative and patient-centred healthcare services. 

The winter of 2024 brings another challenge as a surge of patients affected by RSV, COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses fill our Emergency Department and put extra pressure on our care teams. 

Rather than being discouraged by any of these challenges, our dedicated team of staff and physicians continue to be inspired and driven by opportunities to care – which is where we need you, more than ever. 

I’m honoured to serve this community and lead this exceptional organization. We thank you for trusting us to care for you and your loved ones. I’m deeply grateful we have donors like you by our side. Your generosity and compassion are the reasons we can invest in technology and equipment, spark innovations and bring world-class care to our patients. It’s how I knew, from my very first day on the job we have the support we need to overcome any challenge.

High quality care requires a highly functioning team.  I’m happy to say that we’ve made recruiting talented professionals a huge priority, having added hundreds of highly skilled and dedicated professionals to our team.  

Your generosity helps ensure our teams feel supported as they care for the surge of sick patients arriving in the ED this winter. Because of you, they have access to the state-of-the-art equipment they rely on to diagnose and treat patients as quickly and effectively as possible.  

The physicians at OTMH constantly tell me how much they appreciate the support of our donor community. With your commitment, you make it possible for our hospital to purchase the equipment we need to be a leader in healthcare.  

We celebrated many successes together with our donors in 2023. Your generosity… 

• Helped Dr. Rozario and our surgeons save lives by investing in the cutting-edge pathology equipment they depend on to best treat patients with cancer.
• Ensured radiologists like Dr. Rajput have access to a new, state-of-the-art Picture Archiving Communication System – used to store, retrieve and display diagnostic images and reports.
• Brought us closer to purchasing a new, advanced CT Scanner to help radiologists like Dr. Valadka diagnose illnesses in their earliest stages, including cancer.

Now, a new year has begun and we once again we need your help to equip our hospital, support our caregivers, and provide the most advanced care to every patient who comes through our doors. 

Did you know that the government only funds 86% of our budget every year?  We depend on the contributions of dedicated supporters like you to help us fill the gap. Only with you leading the way, can we buy the equipment on our priority list – equipment we need to attract and retain talented staff and provide the best possible care to our patients.
