Anil's Better Care Story

“An immigrant does not have too many choices. Failure is not an option, and success is not easy,” says Indian-born and Oakville resident, Anil Shah.

In 2021, the Oakville businessman was named a winner of the Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awards program. He has built a successful company, Ni-Met Metals Inc., with employees and offices around the world. He is also an enthusiastic believer in the power of doing good.

In 2021, Anil gave back to his community hospital by sponsoring meals for the frontline health workers, supporting the popular Oakville Diwali event, and making a major pledge to the Foundation in honour of his mother who received care at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.

“Canada has given me a lot. I’ve had the good fortune to be successful and make some money, and I felt an obligation, personally, to give back. I started in India, that was my original thought, but then I said, ‘I live here, I should do something here.’
